I currently work at a medical and recreational pot shop. The building is honestly across the street from the mental health center. We frequently get patients that are coming directly from the mental health center. Some of those patients are sincerely horrifying. Six weeks ago I was now working at the counter and a patient came into the store to get a few marijuana products. The guy was mumbling under his breath and talking to himself. He only said a couple of words when I made an attempt to find out what he wished to have from the store. After the guy made his purchase, he sat in the parking lot for the whole course of the day… None of our clients made complaints about the guy in the parking lot, so we did not force the guy to head out. Things were quiet in the store and the parking lot all afternoon. Unfortunately, things became worse later that day when the guy started harassing various clients. He was begging for currency for food! I sent the security officer outside to escort the guy from the property. I did not mind the guy hanging out in the lot all day until he was causing so many problems. The mental health patient easily refused to leave the parking lot and we had to call for some crucial help from the police. The police ended up taking the guy back to the hospital across the street. It’s not the first time we have had to contact the police when these types of issues come about. I’m really sure it will not be the last time either… When you deal with marijuana patients all the time, there is bound to be a concern every so often.
