My son wanted to have a huge party for his 12th birthday.
- I agreed to let him invite half a dozen friends for the weekend.
We had a huge pool party and we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for the kids. Things were going really well. All of the children seem to be getting along and they weren’t as loud and noisy as I thought they would be. I was getting the kids’ things gathered up so I could take everything upstairs to my son’s bedroom. One of the backpacks was half open. I grabbed the bag and flipped it on the side so I could find the zipper. All of the contents in the backpack felt out onto the ground. I grabbed the items and started shoving them back into the bag. One of the items looked very odd and peculiar. The outside of the package made the item look like it was recreational marijuana. After more carefully looking at the items, I realized that I was correct. I didn’t know how or why one of the kids had marijuana in their backpack. I didn’t say anything to the kids when they came inside, but I did not put the marijuana products back into the bag. I didn’t want the kids smoking marijuana in the middle of the night when my husband and I were asleep. I think that might have been the plan. After all of the kids were in the house and settled down, one of the boys came into the living room where the backpacks had been and he started searching around for something. I asked the young kid if I could help him find something and he said no.
