After the accident, my whole life changed.
I was involved in a multi-car pileup on the highway, and compared to some of the other victims I am in great shape.
Very late at night, in the middle of an ice storm, a semi truck jackknifed in the middle of the road, and caused a chain reaction involving 40 other vehicles, including mine. I spent a few days in the hospital, but I’ve spent years dealing with the fallout of that night. I cracked two vertebrae and have experienced nagging aches and pains ever since. In an attempt to avoid addiction to opioids, I have been using medical cannabis to deal with my pain, with moderate success. I understand that prescription pain pills would be far more effective, but to me it isn’t worth the risk. Medical cannabis is safe and non-addictive, which more than makes up for everything else. Medical cannabis helps me relax, it helps me fall asleep, and to some degree it mitigates the pain. I joined a local gym that promotes holistic health using yoga and medical cannabis in conjunction. That means the yoga instructor brings her own homegrown medical cannabis and we start off the yoga session by sharing a big joint. Medical cannabis relaxes the body and the mind, and is the perfect way to ease into the world of yoga. I have to be careful because my back is so delicate, but I must admit the combination of yoga poses and medical cannabis makes me feel a lot better. One day maybe I’ll be 100% mobile again.
