For the multiple years I had known my lady, I had become used to her not sleeping very well.
She would go to bed at midnight, and by 2:30 in the morning hours, she was downstairs working on some project.
She said she would wake up with fantastic ideas and she had to put them on paper or work on them. I told her to just close her eyes and let her mind rest. I almost laughed when she said she had too many voices trying to keep her up, for her mind to rest, but I knew she was being serious. She told me that ever since she was a little one, the several voices would war with each other in an effort to be heard. She had just grown used to hearing them and she ignored them for the most part. When she was sleeping, she wasn’t able to consciously shut them out and she would be unable to sleep. I told her healthcare worker who responded swiftly. Her first suggestion was that maybe she needed to go through therapy and see what had happened in the past that would cause such a thing. I wasn’t so sure this was something my wife would do. She told me she could try marijuana. Marijuana may be able to relax her brain and provide her with a little amount of peace. If her mind relaxed, her body would relax and she could finally get a bit of sleep. I talked to my hubby and she told me she had self-medicated with marijuana when she was a teenager. She was willing to provide medical marijuana a shot if the healthcare worker could provide her with a prescription.
