Doing work for the cannabis shop now

I’ve been out of school for a few years, taking temporary jobs at various places… I have a degree in finance, however it’s not very easy to find labor in that target area.

The last few weeks have been even more difficult, because Covid split the job market in half.

I was especially excited when I heard from an old school roommate, because she had a lovely job opportunity to offer me. The woman called the other week with some exciting news. She got investors to agree to let her open a dispensary in a legal recreational and medical cannabis state. She needed someone with a powerful background in finance to run the company side of things. She was genuinely hoping that I would find the opportunity exciting. She even offered to fly me out to see the facility and have a talk with the investors. Three afternoons later, I boarded a plane and went across the country. I talked to Lisa for hours about the project over a nice dinner by the bay. I was entirely intrigued and agreed to give the woman a year if she paid for a contractor home for the first few weeks. It was an immense transfer for me, and I wanted a little bit of safety and security while I figured everything out. Lisa and the investors agreed to the unique deal. The group of us worked out the details and the salary and I moved to the coast. Working at the dispensary has been a fantastic opportunity to try something new, but most afternoons I labor in the office, however there are some afternoons when I get to interact with customers or try up-to-date cannabis products.
