I’ve been out of college for many years, taking temporary tasks in various places.

The last few months have been even more challenging, because Covid easily split the task market in half. I was pretty excited when I heard from an outdated college roommate, because he had a wonderful work opportunity to offer me. The guy called this past month with some great news… He got investors to agree to let him open a dispensary in a legal recreational plus medical cannabis state. He was looking for someone with a strong background in finance to run the business side of things. He was hoping that I would find the business opportunity exciting. He even provided to fly me out to see the facility plus talk to the investors. Three afternoons later, I was hopping on a plane plus flying across the country. I talked to Jack for a long while about the project over a nice lunch by the bay. I was altogether intrigued plus agreed to provide the guy a year if he paid for a business beach property for the first few months. It was a giant move for me, plus I was looking for some safety plus security while I figured everything out. Jack plus the investors agreed to the deal. We easily worked out the details plus the salary plus I moved to the coast… Working at the dispensary has been a fantastic chance to try something new. I often work in the office, however there are some afternoons when I get to interact with clients or try a few new products.
