It was a nice opportunity running a cannabis dispensary

I’ve been out of college for so many years, taking temporary tasks here and there. I honestly have a degree in finance, but it’s not so easy to find work in that target area. The last few weeks have been pretty tough, because Covid totally broke the task market in half. I was fairly gleeful when I heard from a seasoned college roommate, because he had a lovely task offer for me. The guy called yesterday with some wonderful news, he got investors to agree to let him open a dispensary in a legal recreational and medical cannabis state. He needed someone with a background in finance to run the supplier side of things. He was hoping that I would find the business offer fairly exciting. He even provided to fly me out to see the facility and have a conversation with the investors. Three days later, I got on a plane and made my way across the country. I talked to Jack for numerous hours about the project over a wonderful lunch by the bay. I was totally intrigued and agreed to provide the guy a year if he paid for a company lake residence for the first 3 weeks. It was an immense move for me, and I was hoping to have some safety and security while I figured everything out! Jack and the investors agreed to the awesome deal. Then all of us worked out the details and the salary and I made my way out to the coast! Working at the dispensary has been a remarkable occasion to try something new, however most days I work in the office, but there are certain days when I get to interact with clients or try interesting products.
